Rotary Foundation

The Rotary Foundation helps Rotary members to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace by improving health, providing quality education, improving the environment, and alleviating poverty.

The Foundation transforms our donations into service projects that change lives both close to home and around the world.

Since it was founded more than 100 years ago, the Foundation has spent more than $4 billion on life-changing, sustainable projects.

With your help, we can make lives better in your community and around the world.

Promoting peace

As a humanitarian organization, peace is a cornerstone of our mission. We believe when people work to create peace in their communities, that change can have a global effect.

Rotary creates environments where peace can happen.

By carrying out service projects and supporting peace fellowships and scholarships, Rotary members take action to address the underlying causes of conflict, including poverty, discrimination, ethnic tension, lack of access to education, and unequal distribution of resources.

End Polio Now - Polio Plus

Rotary Polio Plus project is working with others to end polio now.

After more that 35 years of hard work, Rotary and its partners are on the brink of eradicating the tenacious polio disease that infects and paralyses children, robbing them of their futures and compounding the hardships faced by their families.

As long as polio threatens even one child anywhere in the world, children everywhere remain at risk. The stakes are that high. We need a final strong push to remove it out completely.

Global Youth Exchange

Rotary Youth Exchange is for students 15 to 19 years who are sponsored and supported by Rotary clubs in more than 100 countries. Most exchanges last a full academic year, and students attend local schools and live with multiple host families. They learn a new language, discover another culture, and truly become global citizens building peace one young person at a time.

Exchange students unlock their true potential to: develop lifelong leadership skills; learn a new language and culture; build lasting friendships with young people from around the world; and become a global citizen.

Scholarships

Rotary invests in our future leaders and philanthropists by funding scholarships for secondary, undergraduate, or graduate study lasting from one to four years and can include an entire degree program.

Rotary offers scholarships for college graduates and professionals to study peace and conflict resolution. The Rotary peace fellowships are available to candidates who want to participate in a master’s degree or certificate program at one of our six partner universities.

Grants are available for graduate students studying abroad in one of Rotary’s causes: promoting peace; fighting disease; providing clean water, sanitation, and hygiene; saving mothers and children; supporting education; growing local economies; and protecting the environment.
